Let’s get hands-on and creative with this Children’s Woodworking Class, hosted by David from Sustainable Woodworking.

Designed for children aged 8+, this special session invites young makers to craft their own pendant from reclaimed wood, learning the art of slow, sustainable crafting with traditional hand tools. With David’s expert guidance, they’ll try their hand at using a coping saw, bench pin, hand-crank drill, and finish their piece with natural beeswax polish.

What’s included:
– Create a pendant from beautifully reclaimed wood
– Use traditional tools in a safe setting
– Learn about sanding, shaping, and polishing
– Take home a handcrafted keepsake

For ages 8+ (must be accompanied by an adult).
No experience necessary.

This class is kindly funded by CCGHT so the tickets are free!

Please give us plenty of notice if you cannot attend so we can offer the tickets to someone else.

About David – Sustainable Designer & Woodworker

David is a sustainable designer who works primarily with hand tools and natural materials. With over seven years’ experience teaching traditional woodworking, he brings a calm, mindful approach to making.

“I love working with my hands, and with natural materials, so woodworking is a natural choice. Working with traditional hand tools forces us to slow down and to be more mindful of our actions as we work. While it is a physical activity, it always has a relaxing effect, and your mind is focused enough on what you are doing to completely forget the everyday stresses in your life. I find that it is pretty much impossible to be in a bad mood when you are working with wood.”
