Led by David from Sustainable Woodworking, this slow craft workshop is designed for beginners and seasoned makers alike. You’ll use traditional shavehorses, drawknives, and spokeshaves to shape your vases, learning timeless skills in the setting of our beautiful farm.

What’s included:
– Create two hand-carved wooden vases
– Learn to use shavehorses, drawknives, and spokeshaves
– All tools and materials provided
– Enjoy the rhythm of traditional green woodworking
– Leave with two unique pieces to treasure or gift

This class is kindly funded by CCGHT so the tickets are free this year!

Please give us plenty of notice if you cannot attend so we can offer the tickets to someone else.

About David – Sustainable Designer & Woodworker

David is a sustainable designer who works primarily with hand tools and natural materials. With over seven years’ experience teaching traditional woodworking, he brings a calm, mindful approach to making.

“I love working with my hands, and with natural materials, so woodworking is a natural choice. Working with traditional hand tools forces us to slow down and to be more mindful of our actions as we work. While it is a physical activity, it always has a relaxing effect, and your mind is focused enough on what you are doing to completely forget the everyday stresses in your life. I find that it is pretty much impossible to be in a bad mood when you are working with wood.”
